Erasmus Mundus programme (AMASE) Joint European Master Programme Advanced Materials Science and Engineering

Background: EUSMAT is a scientific unit of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology III. We promote activities in education and training, in national and international context, in the field of Materials Science and Engineering which works in cooperation with university structures, international partner universities and research institutes, as well as with national and foreign industries.

The AMASE Master Consortium
1.      UdS - Saarland University, Germany
  1. LTU - Luleå Technical University, Sweden
  2. UPC - BarcelonaTech, Spain
  3. UL - Université de Lorraine, France
Selection Criteria for AMASE

Study records
  • In striving for excellence in the AMASE-Programme, candidates with excellent academic achievements will be sought out. Having outstanding results in key subjects of Materials science and Engineering will make the students particularly interesting for this programme.
 Previous studies in materials science
  • Students should have previous study experience in areas relevant to Materials science and Engineering. The ranking in this item follows for example:
1.      Materials Science, Materials Engineering
2.      Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering
3.      Electrical, Electronic, Civil Engineering, etc.
Knowledge of languages
  • Very good command of the language of the first university is a precondition for the programme. It is advantageous that students command also the language of the second university; if not, they should be willing to learn it.
Former work experiences
  •  Experience in research and development at universities and/or industry like interships, jobs, project works, etc., can also be advantageous and should be mentioned in the application.
Motivation
  •  It is also important, that students are extremely motivated to follow the AMASE-Programme. This can be proved in an outstanding motivation letter, which should be about one page maximum.

  • Expected Degree
If you do not dispose of a Bachelor's degree at the moment, but you will get it before starting the AMASE Master Programme, please declare the expected degree here.
  • Laguage Proficiency
Because AMASE is an international Master Programme, you will have the possibility to improve your language knowledge during your studies, but be aware that you need sufficient knowledge of the instruction language at the Entrance university and, if possible, knowledge of the instruction language at the Second university.
