Erasmus Mundus Program in Flood Risk Management


Erasmus Mundus Program in Flood Risk Management is a joint M. Sc program starts with the first semester at TUD (Dresden). The students are required to have high potentiality and analytical skill. The students can select their modules from: Introduction to flood risk management (I and II, compulsory); meteorology and hydrology; climate change; GIS and remote sensing; geodesy; ecology; statistics; hydromechanics, and hydraulic engineering. A field-trip to flood-prone areas is organized.

Courses offered in Third semester, first 20 ECTS credits at UPC, Barcelona, Spain:

·         Introduction to risk, vulnerability, hazard and resilience concepts assessment
·         Global warming
·         The radar, models, system and alerts with flood Forecasting application to the Besos Basin and fieldtrips

Admission Requirements
A. The applicant should have a first degree of higher education equivalent to a B.Sc. degree with a good final mark in civil or environmental engineering, geosciences, environmental sciences, geography, natural resources management, limnology, oceanography, geology or equivalent.
B. Must be proficient in English Language:
IELTS: 6.0 and above
TOEFL paper based: 550 and above
TOEFL computer based test: 213 and above
TOEFL internet based: 79 and above
