Erasmus Mundus (EMJD-DC) Scholarships


Background: Doctorate in Distributed Computing (EMJD-DC) is a joint PhD program which intends to become a model for international doctoral studies in Distributed Systems. Students bring out their research over up to four years in two universities from different countries. The research projects talk some of the significant technological challenges like ubiquitous data-intensive applications, scalable distributed systems, adaptive distributed systems, and applied distributed systems and emerging fields to address industrial and societal needs in the European and worldwide context. The consortium partners complement each other very well in their specialization fields of research, and in the corresponding training offers. The official  language of all training and research activities is English.

Eligibility:
1.      Applicants must have a MSc in the field of computer science or of distributed computing with an excellent grades from courses in distributed systems, operating systems, networking, programming languages, computer architectures, and theory of computing are highly desired.

2.      Proof of English proficiency: Applicants must offer proof of their English language proficiency, with an established through an internationally recognized or accepted test.

IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no lower than 5.5
TOEFL: 
Paper-based test: total result of 575 (written test, grade 4, 5)
Internet-based test: total result of 90 (written test, grade 20) 

English Language Certificates: ( UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE / UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD)
  • Certificate in Advanced English (minimum grade C).
  • Certificate of Proficiency (minimum grade C).
  • Diploma of English Studies (minimum grade C).

Required documents:

  1. Personal profile details
  2. Certified copy of the Master’s degree in original language and translated into English.
  3. Certified copy of the transcript of records in original language and translated into English.
  4. Proof of English language skill.
  5. A complete Curriculum vita including professional and academic records, contact details and photographs.
  6. A copy of the passport or some other kind of identification in English.
  7. Two letters of recommendation from professors or supervisors with email addresses and, telephone numbers of the recommender.
  8. Publication list and Patents (in English).
  9. Your “Candidate Application form”.
