Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award (DHPA) at University of Oxford

Background: The overall aim of the scheme is to attract top superiority students from India, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, South Africa, Russia and the developing world to study for doctoral degrees in highly rated UK research environments. Each DHPA award is funded by one of the UK Research Councils and one private sector partner. The scholarship covers tuition fee, college fee and living expenses for the duration of fee liability. Please note that only one award was finished for 2011/12 and it is doubtful whether awards will be available in future years. The prospect of this scheme is at present under review.

Eligiblity

Applicants should be nationals of an OECD developing country. You must have at least the equivalent of a UK first class honours degree from a prestigious academic institution and be demonstrably in the top 20% of DPhil candidates. Awards are only tenable in departments that are RAE-rated 5 or 5*. Preference is given to new DPhil students although departments may occasionally consider students who are currently in their first year of DPhil study. We will post further information on this web page on the application process, should Oxford be allocated scholarships in the future.
