Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program-2012

Background: The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides ten months of non-degree academic study and related professional familiarities in the United States. Humphrey Fellows are selected based on their probable for leadership and their commitment to public service. The Humphrey Program fosters a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the United States and the Fellows’ home countries. The Program proposals Fellows appreciated opportunities for leadership development and professional engagement with Americans and their counterparts from many nations. More than 4,000 men and women have been privileged as Humphrey Fellows since the program began in 1979. Between 160 and 200 Fellowships are presented annually.

Host Universities    

Humphrey Fellows are allocated in geographically-diverse groups of 7-15 to the most suitable host institution based on area of interest and field. The university serves as the Fellows’ academic and professional base. The Humphrey Program is introduced by an academic unit based in the predominant field, but Fellows have access to a broad spectrum of resources through the university. Each university designates a Campus Coordinator, usually a member or the faculty or administration, to supervise the Humphrey Program at the university. Since the commencement of the Humphrey Fellowship Program in 1978, IIE has functioned in partnership with over 40 universities in the United States. U.S. host universities are designated through a competitive bidding process. Selection is founded on the institution’s ability to progress specialized non-degree programs for a diverse group of Fellows in one or more of the Program’s professional fields.

A minimum of five years of substantial professional experience,

Limited or no prior experience in the United States,

Cardiff University Country-Specific Undergraduate Scholarships

Background: Cardiff University suggests a range of scholarships to international undergraduate students that are nationals of specific countries. These countries are:

• Bangladesh
• India
• Kenya
• Nigeria
• USA
• Vietnam

There are six scholarships available each academic year (one for each country) and scholarship holders will receive a one off tuition fee reduction to the value of £5,000 from their undergraduate degree at Cardiff University.

• You must be confirmed as an Overseas Student for fee paying purposes.
• Applicants for an International Foundation Program, Postgraduate Taught or Postgraduate Research scholarship: You must have accepted an unconditional offer of a place to study at Cardiff University for the 2012/13 academic year by Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012.
• Applicants for an Undergraduate scholarship: You must have either a conditional or unconditional offer and must have accepted Cardiff University as your Firm  choice on the UCAS system, for study during the 2012/13 academic year, by Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012.
• Students with offers to study a Distance Learning course are not eligible to apply.
• You must complete the application form and personal statement as directed. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
• You must return the application form by the deadline: Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
• Scholarships are to be used for academic year 2012/3 only and cannot be used for 2013/14 entry. If you are awarded a scholarship and wish to defer your entry to the University, you will lose your scholarship and will need to re-apply again in the following year.
• These scholarships are only available to self-funded students. Students who are in receipt of full funding from a sponsorship body are not eligible to apply.

The Cardiff University USA Alumni Scholarship-2012

Background: The Cardiff University USA Alumni Scholarship is sponsored through the generosity of Cardiff alumni in the United States. Applications are applauded from all US nationals applying to study a postgraduate program at Cardiff University. There is one scholarship presented each academic year. The scholarship holder will accept a fee decrease to the value of £2,500 from international tuition fees for a postgraduate program at Cardiff University.

Selection Procedure:

Scholarships will be awarded on the root of both academic performance to date and academic potential. There is an expectation that award holders will use their Cardiff University qualification to make a future influence to society, the economy, academia or research. You have to state why you trust that you should be painstaking for the Cardiff University Scholarship, how this scholarship will assist you in your future, and how you plan to use your qualification in your home country.
