London Met Postgraduate Scholarship

Background:

• Students who hold an unconditional offer for one of our postgraduate degree programmes and who pay international tuition fees may apply for a scholarship.
• You can't apply for a scholarship unless you have applied for a course and been given an unconditional offer to study at London Met
  (current continuing students are the only exception to this rule).

• The scholarship programme provides full and partial tuition fee financial support  for students on taught Masters degree programmes.

• Applicants are judged on academic merit and on the likely economic/social benefit to their home country of them doing a Masters degree in the UK.
  (This must be clearly demonstrated in the personal statement that the above criteria are met).

Evidence of paid and/or voluntary work done should also be included in the scholarship application, where applicable. 

·         Applications for London Met scholarships are reviewed twice yearly (in June and November) by a panel of academic staff at the University.

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships at Australia

The Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships are supplementary to the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS).
Only 200 ALA Scholarships are available globally on an annual basis. Therefore, selection for an ALA Scholarship is highly competitive. It is based on a candidate's professional and personal qualities, academic achievement and, most importantly, their commitment to contribute to development outcomes for their country and region.
Awardees undertake a Leadership for Development Program which provides opportunities to enhance leadership capacity and extend networks while the scholars are in Australia.

How to apply for an ADS or ALA scholarship

   Check the open and close dates for your country, and select your country of citizenship/residency from the list of participating countries for specific information on eligibility, priority areas and how to apply. See the Participating country page for opening and closing dates.

  If you intend to apply, you must read the Scholarships handbook. The handbook provides information including general eligibility requirements, selection processes, entitlements and awardee responsibilities. Note that AusAID may revise and update the handbook at any time without notice.

  Some countries encourage and allow you to apply online (only open until 30 April 2012) while others require hard-copy applications.  Some allow you to apply for either an ADS and an ALA Scholarship, others have specific requirements for the levels of study that are supported.   Once you have checked the opening and closing dates for your country, and have referred to the Participating Country Profile to see which method of application they will accept, see the below options on how to apply.

Applying online
Go to the Online Australian Scholarships Information System (OASIS) website. When you register online, you will be required to answer some questions to establish your eligibility. You will then be given a unique registration number, username and password. 

You do not need to submit your application immediately. You can update your draft application form and supporting documentation until 30 April 2012, (or an earlier date specified on the relevant participating country profile). Once submitted, your application cannot be changed.

Applying by mail

If you are unable to submit your application online, you can apply by mail. Please check your participating country profile for contact details to obtain a hardcopy application form and any other templates such as referee reports (if applicable).

Completed hard copy application forms and supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline specified by your country. See the opening and closing dates for each country.

Verified true copies

To verify a document as a true copy, you should present the original document and the copy to a Commissioner of Oaths, Public Notary or other formally recognised authority in your home country. This official should sight both documents and verify with a stamp and/or a signature that the copy is a true copy of the original document. You will have to pay any fees charged by officials for verifying documents.
If you are submitting an online application, you should scan the verified true copies of your supporting documents (not the originals) and attach them as PDF files with your application.

Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships (OCISS)

Background: These scholarships have been established by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies to allow graduates to pursue study of benefit to the Muslim world. The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is a Recognized Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning. At Oxford it contributes to the multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary study of the Islamic world. Beyond Oxford, its role is strengthened by an international network of academic contacts.

Candidates should apply by Application Deadline 2. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate study by the January deadline and you must have secured a place on your chosen program of study by the expected final decision date. Applications with an outstanding admissions decision after this date, or applications which are re-evaluated against the later March deadline field are not eligible for scholarship consideration. You must also complete a Scholarship Supporting Statement and upload it together with your Graduate Application Form by the application deadline in order for your application to be complete.

IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships at University of Oxford

Background: The Islamic Development Bank was established in 1973, and aims to foster the economic growth and social progress of its member countries. These Scholarships enable academically outstanding students to study at Oxford and contribute to the improvement of socio-economic conditions in their country. The Scholarships are supported jointly by the Islamic Development Bank and the University of Oxford.

• Subject: All subjects in MPLS, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences Divisions
• Duration: Period of fee liability

Eligibility

Candidates should be applying to start any new full-time graduate course in the MPLS, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences divisions, with the exception of PGCert and PGDip courses. Candidates should also be from one of the IDB member countries and be nominated by the IDB for the scholarship, having submitted successful applications to the relevant office of the IDB Governor, through their nominating institution.

Benefit:

The combined IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarship will cover tuition fees and college fees in full as well as providing a grant for living expenses. Awards are made for the full duration of a student's fee liability for the agreed course. The continuation of your scholarship each year is subject to an annual renewal process based on satisfactory academic progress.

Eligible candidates will be painstaking automatically by the University, provided that you submit your application for graduate study by the January deadline .You must have tenable a place on your chosen program of study by the predictable final decision date.
