Cardiff University Postgraduate (Research) International Scholarships



Background: Cardiff University Postgraduate (Research) International Scholarships are obtainable to international postgraduate research (e.g.: PhD) students. Applications are received from all international students applying for postgraduate research (e.g. PhD) programs at Cardiff University. There are three scholarships available each academic year and three scholarship holders will pay the UK/EU tuition fee rate instead of the international tuition fee rate for each year (up to four years).

  • You must be confirmed as an Overseas Student for fee paying purposes.
  • Applicants for an International Foundation Program, Postgraduate Taught or Postgraduate Research scholarship: You must have accepted an unconditional offer of a place to study at Cardiff University for the 2012/13 academic year by Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012.
  • Applicants for an Undergraduate scholarship: You must have either a conditional or unconditional offer and must have accepted Cardiff University as your Firm  choice on the UCAS system, for study during the 2012/13 academic year, by Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012.
  • Students with offers to study a Distance Learning course are not eligible to apply.
  • You must complete the application form and personal statement as directed. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  • You must return the application form by the deadline: Midnight (UK time) Sunday, 15th July 2012. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
  • Scholarships are to be used for academic year 2012/3 only and cannot be used for 2013/14 entry. If you are awarded a scholarship and wish to defer your entry to the University, you will lose your scholarship and will need to re-apply again in the following year.
  • These scholarships are only available to self-funded students. Students who are in receipt of full funding from a sponsorship body are not eligible to apply.

International Santander Undergraduate Scholarship 2012




Background: The University of Sheffield Santander offers two undergraduate scholarships in any faculty at the university. The scholarship will take the form of a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for the first year of study only.

Students must apply for a position by 22 June 2012 and hold an offer to study at the University of Sheffield Santander.
If the candidates want to be considered for the scholarship he or she must apply to study via UCAS.

Erasmus Mundus (GIM) Scholarships


Background: The Master of Science in Global Innovation Management is a joint program offered by the University of Strathclyde of (Scotland), Aalborg University (Denmark), Hamburg University of Technology (Germany) and, Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) which permits graduates of first degrees in the field of engineering, science and technology to efficaciously accomplish the innovation process through international margins.

The selected Students would have the chance to study at two European Universities. However the EU students and self-funded non-EU students have an option to study in Australia in the 2nd year. The M Sc Program is composed of two years ensures a better depth of learning with practical and theoretical knowledge including extensive industrial involvement and a rich cultural experience.

Eligible Candidates

Candidates who want to study at GIM course must require the following qualifications: 
·         Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least a second-class level or higher, in an engineering, science or technology subject 
·         Must be proficient in English attaining a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 95.


Erasmus Mundus Scholarships

Category A 48,000 Euros  
Category B 23,000 Euros.

How to apply

1.      The candidates must send the applications to the administrating institution of the University of Strathclyde.
2.      No separate application for the ERASMUS MUNDUS scholarship is necessary.
3.      Candidates are not allowed to apply for more than 3 Erasmus Mundus courses at the same time.

Application Procedures:

1.      Application must be made through the websites of University of Strathclyde
2.      Applicants must upload all of the required documents to the online application system.
3.      The cover sheet can be downloaded from here.
4.      A well written covering letter of maximum 1 page and a CV of maximum 2 pages.
5.      Two scanned letters of reference from the teachers or supervisors.
6.      The scanned copy of the first degree including CGPA/GPA of each semester with a scanned copy of an English Language Proficiency certificate.
7.      A passport photocopy of the candidate.

Background: Provides scholarship for the Africans nationals studying MBA at the Edinburgh Business School (EBS). The Trust will select the candidates who have the motivation and capacity to undertake the Distance Learning MBA, but who face funding complications.
